Darkness is prevalent. Wherever there is a corruption of what is good and right, darkness settles. You might be living your best life, but if you have any interactions with other humans, it’s guaranteed you’ll hit patches of darkness. If you chose to live a solitary life on a remote mountain, you might avoid a lot of it. There’s times, I wouldn’t mind. It’s not a possibility right now and I’m certain that God doesn’t will that for me anyway. What is His will for me when I am confronted with the dark? “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.” Phill 4:2 His Will is that I don’t add to it. He desires that I take the Flashlight, which is the Word of Life and turn it on full blast to illuminate the way and the Way. The purpose is twofold. I need to be able to navigate through it and also make that path bright for others so they cross from the Dark into the Light. The level of darkness is irrelevant. The Light of Life obliterates darkness regardless of the depth. Today may be a day that you find yourself walking through a dark place because of someone else’s sin. You’re a star. You shine and guide and you exchange dark for light. The darker, the brighter.
