The older I am in the faith, the younger I should become. It is not a contradiction. The more I know His Love, attain to His Love, acquire more knowledge of Him, receive wisdom from Heaven, walk closer to Him, grow in prayer, receive revelation, and accept and give mercy, the more I will transform into His child. It will be clear to me and my life will reflect my understanding.  I will know:

Dependence on Him.  Matthew 6:25-34

To Seek His Nurturing.  Psalm 131:2

To Accept Training/Discipline Hebrews 12:7-11

Reliance on His Protection. 1Peter 1:5

That I Live under His Love.  Romans 8:37-39

Joy of Pleasing my Father.  2Corinthians 5:9

Trust that Believes in His Total Care.  Jer 29:11

True Love for Him. Matthew 22:37

Just so you know, I believe this, but in my own life, I forgot this truth. I have pursued growing up spiritually, but I lost sight of childhood. Being childlike and being immature are not synonymous. We are called to mature in our faith, (Hebrews 5:12-14) but the irony is that spiritual maturity converts us into little children. And little children are very familiar with the principles I listed above. As for me, I am rediscovering this truth that I already “knew”. But if I’m seeking a real growth spurt, I will take on the heart of a child. I can still participate in my development, but I know it comes from Him. “And now, little children, abide in him…”  1Peter 2:28 Then I will experience the true maturity I strove to find as a “grown up”. Just curious, in your faith, have you tried being a kid again?

(Jesus) said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:13.

The idea for the study came from a conversation I had with my friend last night at dinner.  We have all this knowledge we’ve acquired and we’re trying so hard to mature in our love and faith but we’d be better off not trying so hard and just be a kid again, spiritually. I decided to let that talk inspire today’s message.  It took me so long to find a quote. I didn’t actually find one. So, I made one up.  Then it took me forever to letter it and then write the lesson. But, once it was done,  I was happy with it.  I am going to internalize that it is good and right to change into a child. It’s the only way to truly mature.

Love Always???
