Love is the Great Liberator. It possesses the only power that can release anyone from the most difficult prison to escape: our own personal penitentiary. A facility constructed of raw material that we have acquired from life through emotions, actions, experiences. That material is refined into anger, bitterness, hate, prejudice, mistrust, selfishness, lies, etc. that is used to build the walls, ceiling, floor, doors and bars of the cells. I’ve been housed in one and it was inescapable. Love came to rescue me in Jesus and it took me a a little while to walk out. I was not accustomed to the Light since I’d been sitting in a dark cell for so long. But Love doesn’t rush. Love is patient. Yet love is quick and as soon as I walked out, the building was destroyed. Love wants me to be free so I have Love’s Spirit with me to ensure my freedom. If I live in step with Love’s Spirit, I am not convicted by any law that will return me to prison. (Galatians 5:25) Even though that is true, life doesn’t stop handing out raw material. I can’t start building again. I have to take Love’s hand before the cuffs come on. That is when I remember Love’s words: “if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 4:18. Love says to replace what life is giving you with Itself. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 4:13. Yesterday, I found myself working on a small cell because I stopped to examine some recent material. I was hanging out in that zone. The amazing thing is that Love stayed with me. Helping me to start walking away. Even though I’m not totally out of the area, Love is my constant rescuer. He just won’t give up. I love Him. His name is God. “God is love.” 1John 4:8

God ‘s Great Goodness.
Good is difficult to define. The synonyms are just not exact matches. Maybe contrast is better. Good vs. Bad or Good vs. Evil. The comparison helps. With regards to God, he is nothing but Good. He is Good in every-single-way. He is Perfect Good and He is overflowing in it. Evil and Bad do not…
Free In Love
I was bound and detained without hope of release. Yet during that time, I thought I was unconfined. I lived a life of open abandon that deceived me to think I had freedom. But I was restricted since my mind didn’t know Truth and Love. I functioned behind a barricade where I watched over my…
I Am A Friend In Jesus
What is the precise meaning of friend? None of the dictionaries I went to could accurately and comprehensively define it. Generally it was described as a person for whom you have a bond of affection/trust, an ally, and a companion. But some of those definitions also varied on whether the person was a family member…
His Hands
If I reach for God in prayer, He never maintains any distance. He is quick to connect with me. It is His great joy to hold me up. He cradles my prayers because He values me. I can’t claim that I earned His care or that in my corner of the world, I caught His…
Love Always Protects Its Friends
