Love is the Great Liberator. It possesses the only power that can release anyone from the most difficult prison to escape: our own personal penitentiary. A facility constructed of raw material that we have acquired from life through emotions, actions, experiences. That material is refined into anger, bitterness, hate, prejudice, mistrust, selfishness, lies, etc. that is used to build the walls, ceiling, floor, doors and bars of the cells. I’ve been housed in one and it was inescapable. Love came to rescue me in Jesus and it took me a a little while to walk out. I was not accustomed to the Light since I’d been sitting in a dark cell for so long. But Love doesn’t rush. Love is patient. Yet love is quick and as soon as I walked out, the building was destroyed. Love wants me to be free so I have Love’s Spirit with me to ensure my freedom. If I live in step with Love’s Spirit, I am not convicted by any law that will return me to prison. (Galatians 5:25) Even though that is true, life doesn’t stop handing out raw material. I can’t start building again. I have to take Love’s hand before the cuffs come on. That is when I remember Love’s words: “if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 4:18. Love says to replace what life is giving you with Itself. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 4:13. Yesterday, I found myself working on a small cell because I stopped to examine some recent material. I was hanging out in that zone. The amazing thing is that Love stayed with me. Helping me to start walking away. Even though I’m not totally out of the area, Love is my constant rescuer. He just won’t give up. I love Him. His name is God. “God is love.” 1John 4:8

He stays with me and He refuses to leave. I can’t think of any other who would remain and be present without a gap or space. I mean, He is completely immersed in me. No one else can do that because when I am not kind, thoughtful, selfless, sacrificial, patient, gracious, loving and the…
God “Dissed” Me
But I was. I was very disappointed and I stopped believing. It was the summer and I was 12 years old. My parents were heavy alcoholics. My dad was a teacher and appeared to be fully functioning, but he would drink at home, drink on the road, and usually spend a significant amount of the…
Forgiving Key
I didn’t have a very good idea of what to do today. What I wrote isn’t exceptional artwise, but the quote seemed appropriate. The subject is unavoidable because humans are so human. If you knew me outside of Instagram or this blog, you’d agree. In many places where my life has intersected with others, I’ve…
Let Them Go
If you’re here long enough, you’ll get handed all kinds of things. Some of those things were alive, valid, and relevant when you received them, but now they’re dead. Whatever they were, they no longer are. Therefore, holding onto them past their expiration date is a waste of life. Maybe your open hand held something …
Extraordinary
As a new creation, He proposes to leap over the human side of me and pair up with my willing heart in order to make me supernaturally spiritual. It’s almost crazy to believe that a mortal life can join with the One who created all things, and become like Him. This is exactly what happens…
MESSIANIC FREEDOM
We, each, are an amalgamation of our history/family and experiences. This unique combination makes us proud and centered. It shapes our perceptions and even drives our objectives. If we lost that, we would be robbed of part of our identity. We also love our independence and together with our identifiers, we form communities and connections….
