“Though I have fallen, I will arise. Though I sit in darkness,  the Lord will be my light.” Micah 7:8  If I’m walking through this life on a journey, the likelihood of taking a fall, is high. Not because I purposefully set it up, but due to all the factors that I will never be able to control. I desire a certain outcome but I cannot direct and influence people, events, nature, and all things into exact submission. I accept that truth, yet, I don’t want to be paralyzed by it. I need to be led by a source that is perfect and trustworthy at navigating. For me, Jesus is my only option.  He leads me in Love and I have full confidence in His Love because He demonstrated the extent of it at the Cross. But following Him will not guarantee that I will avoid going down.  Whether I trip myself up, lose sight of Him or just get blindsided, the possibility of a fall is still there. My comfort and hope is in His Presence. I’ve eaten a lot of dirt. Just even recently. He was not absent when I hit the ground. He will never leave me during the times I falter or drop because His intent is to walk me Home. Maybe you are in that place. Did you fall in love and it ended in pain? Fall from grace? Fall into sin? Fall away? Free falling? The landing is jarring and may seem like you can’t get up. If you follow Him, the Lord is on the other end of that fall. He remains with you. He won’t force you to get up, but he’ll keep you company and give you light and His Love while you’re there. When you’re ready, he’ll give you a hand to rise.

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

“The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.” 1John 2:6

I will walk where He goes. It isn’t my path to forge. I want to help others follow Him, and I can’t do that going my own way.  I already tried that.  I failed and I don’t want to take anyone down with me. As much as I want what I want, I also want to Love them by letting go in Love.. Releasing my hold and not trying to get in the way of their walk with Jesus or leading the wrong way. So, I’m relinquishing my plans, and letting go in Love. My love still exists and it is still true, but I want the best for all those I love, and it means no longer holding on to the things I’ve tried to make happen. Jesus will direct me and I know there will be no wrong turns even when I fall.

  1. Thank you for sharing your heart in truth and with compassion and the grace of your abiding Love for and trust in Jesus, who holds our hand and will carry us through pain and confusion of our falls in life. You message touched my heart, empathetically, as I am praying diligently for the hand of Jesus to uplift the lives of Loved ones who, with me, are in hurting from a fall and are prayerfully trusting in his Love and support. Jesus’ hand of Love is found in these Bible verses, and I share them to comfort and aid your readers and you:

Hosea 6:3 “So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.”

Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in Truth and Love.

John 8:32 “and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

2 Timothy 2:7 “Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.”

1 John 5:20 “We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God of Love and eternal life.”

Psalm 90:17 “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; and confirm for us the work of our hands and the Truth of His Love in our hearts”

2 John 2-3 “For the sake of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in Truth and Love.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-6 “Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the Truth of His Love in our hearts.”

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good heart, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”

… And be free from any fear of falling, for you are safe and complete in the Love of God that is pure and true and alive in you. It is the Love Jesus, the Lord of Love, put in your heart, because He Loves you completely and you have experienced His Love, and you Love Him and trust in His Love, completely. God bless and give you peace and His hand of Love in your life and ministry. Amen.
